STREET CHILDREDN IN ZAMBIA

This time, on Anthropology Students’ Sessions, our colleagues Nuša and Manja will present their field work and experience with street children in Zambia. The second session dedicated to the fast-growing area of research, namely anthropology of childhood, will combine the work of several anthropological authors who wrote about phenomena of street children with ethnographic material collected by this time's presenters during their fieldwork in Zambia.

Drage jedke in jedci! Danes veganska večerja odpade, ker se ni javil nihče, ki bi nam jo skuhal. Vsakdo ima možnost, da večerjo doživi še z druge perspektive - naravnost iz kuhinje. Torej, formirajmo nove kuharske ekipe, da bodo želodci polni ter infoshopovski torki veseli!

Tokrat beremo analizo zadnje finančne krize avtonomističnega kolektiva Midnight Notes Collective, ki je bila objavljena v njihovem pamfletu Promissory Notes. 

"Crisis: What it is, What it is not: After five hundred years of existence, capitalists are once again announcing to us that their system is in crisis. They are urging everyone to make sacrifices to save its life. We are told that if we do not make these sacrifices, we together face the prospect of a mutual shipwreck. Such threats should be taken seriously. Already in every part of the planet, workers are paying the price of the crisis in retrenchment, mass unemployment, lost pensions, foreclosures, and death."

Zadruga urbana - filmski večer

Zimsko vrtnarjenje nadaljujemo z ogledom dokumentarnega filma Edible City: Grow the Revolution (2012, 71 min).

Film spremlja skupino zaskrbljenih ljudi, ki želijo na svoj edinstven način preoblikovati sodobno prehranjevalno verigo – skozi izobraževalne projekte, grassroots aktivizem in z izgradnjo alternativne lokalne ekonomije.

Filmu sledi pokušina sveže-skuhanega zadružnega šnopsa.

STREET CHILDREN IN UKRAINE

On the first session in 2014 we will present a movie, tangent to the fast-growing area of research, namely anthropology of childhood. 

Bomzhi (2012) is a film, based on ethnographic fieldwork and a monograph, about street children in Makeevka, eastern Ukraine, by anthropologist Andrej Naterer. Through the presentation of individual stories of children living on the streets, it enables an insight into their day-to-day struggle to survive and depicts conclusions of their street careers.
